The
Institute has a well stocked open accessible Central
Library has 22244 volumes with 5748 titles of Textbooks,
Reference books, Technical Journals, Periodicals, and
Competition books on various subjects for the students
& faculty. The Library has fully automated &
computerized setup electronic search for reading material
through On line public access catalogue (OPAC). Seating
capacity 250 users at a time user-friendly environment.
The Library is linked to National & International
networks through Internet and in the institute through
LAN. All the departments also maintain their Departmental
Libraries, which are linked to Central Library.
Along
with conventional books used in Science, Engineering and
Technology, the central library has reading section for
general reading and a Reference Section for refer
different type reference reading material like, reference
books, containing Journals & periodicals, CD’S &
current affairs magazines. There is subscription to 111
print journals & E- Journals “Science Direct,”
(271 E-journals) through INDEST- AICTE consortium, ACM
& Delnet membership and 32 Magazines.
Reference
section
Facility for students to refer different material of
exceptional nature. Printed journals, reference books are
available here. Reference room can accommodate 100 Student at a time.
Information(E-Resource)
Center
A
part of library the information center is well equipped
with 12 computer nods with internet access
printing,scanning, CD/DVD writing facility, and color
T.V., VCR, ,over head projector . It has an excellent
collection of video cassettes on science and technology
for promoting audio visual learning for the students. CBTs
are also provided to the members.
E-Knowledge
center
It is a part of
central library and has about 12 computers printer,
scanner, CD/DVD writers E-Databases & Journals access
and a server comprising of the digital library. Here the
material is collected from various sources and kept in a
structured format. Students can access it and
do their research study. In future we are planning to
extend this facility to the hostel rooms so that students
can access this knowledge center round the clock.
E-Lecturers
(Video courses)
The central library
is a member of NPTEL (National program on Technology
Enhanced learning) & established a LAN server in
library for access of above courses. it is a joint venture
of seven IIT’s & IIS Bangalore. There are 239 Video
lecturers for all engineering courses of top professor of
IIT’s & IIS. To sustain & self improvement of
our library users.
Xerox
facility
A separate Xerox
machine for the students & faculty is available in the
Library.
Special
collection
Institute
also encourages the students coming under SC/ST Category
& other backward class by maintaining a additional
Book Bank for them. Library
on the other hand have Seminar & Group Discussion’s
for personality development & internet facility for
the dynamic development of
students.
The central library is managed by a group of
experienced qualified Librarians & Assistants.
