IBM
center of
Excellence
It
is a great pleasure for us that IBM has signed an MOU with
us for IBM Center of Excellence. Which will provide
a new edge to our brand building process and provide new
opportunities to our students.
The
journey started when some of our students participated in
IBM “the great mind challenge” competition and stood
up to state level. IBM found potential in our students and
they visited here to see the infrastructure, faculty and
management. Mr. Vikas Manoria (Technical Lead, North)
delivered a lecture on RAD and J2EE and interacted with
Mr. Amit Jain (HOD CSE) and Manish Verma (System Manager)
for possibilities of workshops and certification exams.
Thereafter
IBM conducted a workshop on DB2 from 4th May
2009 to 6th May 2009 during this Mr. Ajay Shakar, Mr.
Adanan and Mr. Sunny Narang delivered expert lecture on
DB2 to 71 students. Thereafter IBM and MIT organized
online certification exam from Prometric for those
students who attended db2 workshop from 27th
August 2009 28th August 2009 in which total 65
students participated and 43 were certified. The success
ratio was 66 %, which is very good as per the IBM. Exam
fee for a single participant is approximately $200. All
the expenses including traveling cost, Training cost etc.
were handled by IBM itself.
With
successful first experience IBM again conducted a workshop
and certification exam on RAD from 11th
November 2009 to 20th November 2009 by Mr.
Sunny Narang and Ms. Sonal Dubey, in workshop total 120
students participated and in certification exam 99
students appeared and 55 cleared. We had Excellent result
in both the exams and IBM appreciated and recognized us
and they planned to reward us with Center of Excellence.
There
are many advantages to have a Center of Excellence. We
have set up an exclusive laboratory with latest
configuration commuters as per the IBM standard. IBM will
provide all their software free of cost to us for
using training and projects in our campus. They will
conduct workshop and certifications exams on various IBM
technologies. Our students will have space on their
placement portal and will be searchable by potential
employers including IBM also.
IBM
signed up an MOU with MIT, Mandsaur on 7th
December 2009 in the presence of Mr. Kunal Dhureja
(Technology evangelist, IBM), Mr. Mayank Jha (Relationship
Manager, IBM), Executive Chairman, Director and Director
(Development, BRNSS), faculty and students.
